I have never been one to do things alone. Besides all the things people typically do alone. I know I live in that apartment all by my lonesome, but I needed a little self reflection time this weekend. To celebrate the independence. I was going to be bold and fly away, but I chickened out and decided to stay in the state. Here is a little photographic journey into Beaufort, SC.
This is the little waterfront park. It was so neat, because I stayed in a B&B, another new experience for me. I met all these friendly older people.
This is the view from one of the many swings overlooking the water. IT just looks like the dock is smiling at you!
Another pretty view from the sidewalk in front of the B&B.
I met a lovely lady named Marsha who had the greatest southern accent ever and told good stories. She unknowingly gave me the career advice I really needed. She travels alone often, and I'm pretty sure this is just my first of many little adventures. I'll venture out of state next time. Beaufort provided exactly what I needed though; a distraction from Columbia, an old south neighborhood captured gracefully in the wrap around porches and moss covered trees, a street containing antique stores to treasure hunt, a bookstore with the book I never knew I had to own, a quiet beach, and a hammock rocking me into breezy naps.
